The elements included in Group VA, the Nitrogen Group, are Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Arsenic, Antimony, Bismuth, and Ununpentium. The Nitrogen Group has 5 outer electrons, that is 2 electrons in the s sublevel and 3 in the p sublevel. So, when the electrons are in their non-ionized states, they are 3 electrons short of filling the outermost electron shell.

The Nitrogen Group has the widest range of physical states of any other group on the Periodic Table. For example, Nitrogen and Phosphorous are non-metals, Aresenic and Antimony are metalloids, and Bismuth and Ununpentium is a metal.

Bismuth and Ununpentium are unconfirmed if they are part of the Nitrogen Group. It is just accepted.
